Dei Gratia

baroque ensemble

Dei Gratia have collaborated with churches across the UK and appeared at festivals such as  Greenbelt Festival and Soul in the City. We  also recently visited Denmark for a performance of the St John Passion.  Our performances range from full-scale concerts, to participation in church services, and much in between.

Dei Gratia means - by the grace of God.

About the ensemble

Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth.

Sing to the Lord, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day.                                     Psalm 96

Dei Gratia is a collective of emerging and experienced professional musicians who specialise in Baroque (18th-century) music on period instruments. We perform well-known Baroque music, particularly choral (for example Handel's Messiah or Bach's St. John and St. Matthew Passions), originally composed for performance in the context of Christian worship.  The members of Dei Gratia are all active Christians with a heart for using their musical gifts to serve churches and communities and encourage performers and audiences alike to think again about the glorious inspiration of these masterpieces.
